Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, May 3, 2024 at 8:00 pm, May 5, 2024 at 3 pm with a preconcert talk from RISE at 2:30 pm

The 2024 Gala showcase concert will feature singers of diverse ethnic backgrounds singing repertoire that features their individual heritages. This “Voices of Home” Gala will mark the company debuts of soprano Kristina Lewis, tenor William Lim, and baritone Grant Youngblood. Returning singers to the company include sopranos Laurice Simmons Kennel, Kirsten C. Kunkle, and Marisa Robinson, mezzo-soprano Paula Rivera-Dantagnan, and tenor Robert Tucker. David Hearn will make his collaborative piano debut with WCO, after having served as the chorus master for last season’s “Hänsel und Gretel.”

This concert is a fundraiser for Jewish Family Services of Delaware’s Refugee Integration Support Effort (RISE). Join us at 2:30 pm on Sunday, May 5 to learn more about this vital work.

Our effervescent La serva padrona is going to a music festival! Join us in Bethlehem, PA at Musikfest, the nation’s largest free music festival for an hour of hilarity with Serpina, the maid who decides she’s going to be the mistress of the house, whether her boss Uberto likes it or not (spoiler: he likes it).

 
 

Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss (In German with supertitles; dialogue in english)

Join a fabulous cast of new and old WCO performers for this effervescent satirical comedy masquerade ball full of famous and famously catchy tunes, sung in German with dialogue in English. Sunday’s matinee performance features decorative mask making at 1:00 PM for one and all, followed by a sensory friendly performance at 2:00 PM, which will include a parade and games for children (and others, if they feel like joining in the fun) during the second act party scene.
