Hillary Esqueda and Jennifer Allor: spooky songs to sing in the dark

We are delighted to finish our 2024 Voices of Home Season with a virtual recital featuring the phenomenal Chicago based soprano Hillary Esqueda and pianist Jennifer Allor!
This concert marks the Wilmington Concert Opera Mainstage debuts for both Esqueda and Allor.

Girondines original cast world premiere recording

Live recording of October 23, 2022 original cast of "Girondines" Wilmington Concert Opera concert premiere production at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Wilmington, DE. “Girondines” shares six French Revolution women’s interconnected stories. Three are guillotined: radical murderess Charlotte Corday, moderate feminist writer Madame Manon Roland, and radical feminist writer Olympe de Gouges. Three survive political upheaval: prolific portrait-painter Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun; political theorist Madame Germaine de Staël; and inventive chemist Marie-Anne Pierrette Paulze. Chamber opera for six voices, piano, electronics, cello, and violin.

We are thrilled to celebrate Black History Month with a virtual recital featuring the dynamic Chicago based musicians, soprano Jade Dashá and pianist Mark Bilyeu! Selections featured are: "Sleep" - Ivor Gurney "Grief" - William Grant Still "Als Luise die Briefe ihres ungetreuen Liebhabers verbrannte" - Mozart "Tout n'est qu'images fugitives" - Wagner Selections from "Moments in Sonder" by B.E. Boykin, poetry by Maya Angelou.

Claire Galloway and John Henderson: Norwegian Fairytales

We are thrilled to start our 2024 Season with "Norwegian Fairytales: A Virtual Recital featuring Claire Galloway and John Henderson." This concert is part of the Dr. William and Mrs. Dawn Schlotterer Virtual Recital Series. This concert marks the Wilmington Concert Opera Mainstage debuts for both soprano Galloway and pianist Henderson, and the first time Wilmington Concert Opera has featured Norwegian repertoire!

Renee Macdonald & Reese Revak: Friends, Foxes, & Fireworks

"Friends, Foxes, and Fireworks" is the latest in our Dr. William and Mrs. Dawn Schlotterer Virtual Recital Series!

This concert marks the Wilmington Concert Opera Mainstage debut for Philadelphia based soprano Renee Macdonald. We excitedly welcome back collaborative pianist Reese Revak.

During this short recital, you will hear music by contemporary American composers, including Revak. Other composers include friends of Macdonald, include Griffin Candey and Tyler Tejada.

laurice simmons Kennel and reese revak: songs for the people: a celebration of african-american composers

In honor of Black History Month, we are thrilled to welcome back to of our fantastic performers, soprano Laurice Simmons Kennel and pianist Reese Revak, to perform a virtual recital featuring the works of African-American composers. Andrew Kennel is the videographer.

In this short and family friendly recital, you will hear this dynamic duo perform art songs by Rosephanye Powell and H. Leslie Adams, as well as a set of spirituals.

Vivian Holfeld and Gabriel Rebolla: New Year, New Love

We are delighted to kick off 2023’s Virtual Recitals with two Wilmington Concert Opera’s longest-time musicians, soprano Vivian Holfeld and pianist Gabriel Rebolla, in a recital entitled “New Year, New Love”.

Kirsten C. Kunkle and Kassandra Weleck in recital: songs my mother taught me…and songs I will teach my daughter

We are delighted to welcome back Co-founder and Artistic Director, soprano Kirsten C. Kunkle, along with the Mainstage Wilmington Concert Opera debut of pianist Kassandra Weleck, for our next virtual recital!

This recital is titled "Songs My Mother Taught Me...and Songs I Will Teach My Daughter." Both artists have daughters, and together they chose repertoire that was important to them, especially for their children.

We are delighted to welcome tenor Samual Keeler in his Wilmington Concert Opera mainstage debut, presenting Franz Schubert’s masterpiece of a song cycle, Die schöne Müllerin with collaborative pianist Gabriel Rebolla.

Joseph Legaspi and Jerico Vasquez in recital: kung hindi man: Songs of Love and Devotion

We are delighted to welcome baritone Joseph Legaspi and pianist Jerico Vasquez in their Wilmington Concert Opera Mainstage Debuts in the virtual recital Kung Hindi Man: Songs of Love & Devotion.

This recital showcases Filipino art songs, and we are thrilled that two world premieres will be featured: a song cycle by Ryan Cayabyab and "Nonot Kamo Kanako" by Nilo Alcala.
